As a 1983 B. Sc. Petroleum Engineering graduate of the University of Alberta, I was employed in the oil and gas industry until 1987. I had a keen interest in the investment industry and joined Wood Gundy as an investment advisor. My first day in the office was October 19, 1987, better known as Black Monday! Since that day, I have experienced several bull and bear markets, which have given me the opportunity to hone my skills to achieve performance in volatile markets for a diverse group of clients.
Over the past 25 + years, I have identified the analysts and newsletter publishers whose work I have confidence in. Along with their recommendations and my technical background, I excel at identifying overlooked, undervalued resource based opportunities. In addition, I often provide investment ideas in large-capitalization and dividend paying stocks. My passion and drive is in searching for and selecting investment opportunities that have the potential to appreciate in price at a multiple from current market levels.
I am a happy, single parent and proud father of Nicole and Alex, who are very active in many sports at the Glencoe Club in Calgary. My son, in particular, is beginning to challenge me with his squash game! I enjoy a good workout, cycling, travel, golf at Carnmoney and good times with good friends.
