John Tognetti is credited with guiding Haywood's growth from a regional retail investment dealer to a leading independent, full-service firm. With more than 30 years experience as an investment adviser and trader, John has brought Haywood Securities extensive retail and institutional distribution as well as a multitude of industry contacts. John has a proven track record of providing his clients with successful and timely investment ideas.

Rob Blanchard
President

Rob Blanchard was appointed president of Haywood Securities in 1991, and is also one of eleven directors at Haywood. Rob originally joined Haywood as a managing director in 1986. After a three-year hiatus beginning in 1988 to pursue a career opportunity in real estate development, Rob has been leading Haywood Securities for nearly two decades. Rob began his career in 1978 with C.M. Oliver & Company, followed by a move to Yorkton Securities in 1983. He has more than 30 years of industry experience spanning the areas of trading, administration and compliance. Rob oversees all administration, marketing and corporate development for the firm.

Robert Disbrow
Vice President

Bob Disbrow joined Haywood in 1999 from First Marathon Securities where he was a director and branch manager of the Vancouver office. A co-founder of First Marathon, Bob managed the firm's risk capital fund for 10 years and its equity fund for five years. As a portfolio manager, Bob's primary responsibility is advising Haywood’s institutional and retail clients.

Charles Dunlap
Chief Financial Officer

Charles Dunlap is the Chief Financial Officer for the firm and is responsible for all aspects of financial and regulatory reporting, along with back-office operations. Charles began his career in the securities industry in 1979 as an accounting manager at CM Oliver & Company. Charles also worked in operations management with a major Canadian trust company, and in operational auditing at the Canadian Depository for Securities.

David Elliott

David Elliott works with the management team at the firm’s Vancouver office where he oversees trading operations. David began his career in 1968 as a floor trader in Montreal, and came to Vancouver in 1970. David joined forces with John Tognetti, David Shepherd and Rob Blanchard to purchase Haywood Securities in 1986.

David Lyall
Vice President, Head of Institutional Sales

David Lyall has more than 20 years of experience in the investment business, and proven expertise in dealing with pension funds, mutual funds and banks and is a core member of Haywood’s Institutional Sales and Trading team. He began his career at Pitfield Mackay Ross and later joined First Marathon Securities as a vice-president and director. During David’s tenure at First Marathon, he was a top institutional salesperson, and developed First Marathon's institutional sales department for Western Canada and the United States.

Rick Paolone
Vice President, Toronto Branch Manager

Rick Paolone has spearheaded the expansion of Haywood’s institutional accounts in the eastern United States and across Canada. Rick focuses on high-growth emerging companies. Before joining Haywood in 2000, he worked at Scotia McLeod, Midland Walwyn and First Marathon Securities.

John Rybinski

John Rybinski has used his extensive experience in the investment and technology industries to successfully complete a number of equity financings, mergers and acquisition transactions. Prior to joining Haywood Securities in 1996, John was a senior executive with MacDonald Dettwiler when the company first went public and a chief financial officer at Sonigistix when it aggressively launched its flat-panel, audio-speaker technology.

Eric Savics

Eric Savics joined Haywood in 1999 with more than 25 years of experience in institutional sales and corporate finance. As a founder of First Marathon Securities, Eric earned industry recognition as a corporate finance professional and senior institutional salesperson. Eric is currently a proprietary owner of Tantalus Wines in Kelowna, BC.

David Shepherd brings valuable experience to Haywood with over 28 years in the industry. David, along with David Elliott, John Tognetti, and Rob Blanchard purchased Haywood in 1986. David has provided strategic advisory services to numerous companies in the mining and technology industries..
